Annie Morgan Preece

Hello! I’m Annie. I regularly leave the dishes in the sink and the laundry undone so I can slip away to my studio and make a beautiful mess with buttery oil paints. With my art I capture the things in which I find the most delight. I especially love painting fresh food, inviting chairs, stormy skies, and colorful shoes. My work tells the little stories of everyday life, both the hard and the beautiful.

I make it a priority to slow down and take the time to appreciate the little things and find contentment in them. When not running children to piano lessons or soccer practice, I enjoy cooking, reading, learning useless random facts, and am an award-winning soprano.

I work at a studio in my home, The Mini Dew Ranch, in Salt Lake City, Utah, where I live with my husband and four children. If you'd like to see what I’m working on, find out about secret sales (shh!), and have beautiful things (like free phone wallpaper) sent right to your inbox, sign up for my newsletter.

all these small moments are threads in the tapestry of our lives

Finding Art in the Everyday

How often do we pull out carrots or onions to chop for dinner? How many times do we walk past the same pieces of furniture every day? Do you know just how many times you’ve washed and folded the same pair of jeans?

These repetitive things can seem meaningless and mundane, yet all these small moments are threads in the tapestry of our lives.

My artwork takes these mundane, everyday things and elevates them, allowing us to see their inherent beauty so we can better appreciate the meaning, value, and power they truly bring to our homes and families.
